New Season, New Name For SBS Variety Show 'Roommate'

For fans of SBS's hit variety show "Roommates," big changes are in store for the second season.  The show will be back for more celebrity fun, but with a concept change and a new title.

According to Park Sang Hyuk PD when he was interviewed by Star News, "Season two will be different from season one. We are currently recruiting new members that match the concept of season two."

He continued by explaining how "Roommate" seasons one and two will differ from each other. "For the first season, we focused on showing how strangers live together in a shared house," he said.

"Season two will put more emphasis on the members' personal lives. We will show how people with complexes or hurtful experiences try to overcome their personal challenges. In particular, you will see how they change and grow through 'Roommate.'".

For the casting,he shared that they are in search for the right celebrities who are suited for the show's second season saying, "We are recruiting members while having the concept of season two in mind."

He continued, "People that need support are likely to become the new members. Also, considering the concept of season two, the average age is likely to increase. Like in season one, you will see celebrities that rarely appear on variety shows."

The name will be changed to "It's Okay, Roommate."

The concept of a new show and new casting was made after Lee So Ra, Song Ga Yeon, Shin Sung Woo and Park Bom recently left the show.

Fans can still watch "Roommate" season ending this coming September 14th and stay tuned for the upcoming second season.
