Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE users can now install Android 4.4.4 KitKat update on their smartphone!

GSM Arena's specs list for Samsung Galaxy S4 noted that the 2013 smartphone can only be upgraded officially with the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update. However, because of custom Android ROM developers, a new firmware was released based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat update.

Currently, the CyanogenMod11 M9 custom stable ROM is now available for Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE. Particularly, it is compatible with the LTE variant of the 2013 flagship smartphone, which bears the model number GT-I9505.

Describing the custom firmware, the report on International Business Times reads, "The CM11 M9 ROM packs basic CyanogenMod elements based on the original Android Open Source Project (AOSP) minus the TouchWiz bloatware to deliver the best KitKat user experience till date."

Those who wish to install Android 4.4.4 KitKat update on Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 via the CM11 M9 stable ROM need to be more punctilious during the installation process, since it is not an official firmware.

Check the model number of the device by going to Settings > About Phone > Model Number. Again, the CM11 M9 ROM will work only for Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE GT-I9505.

Go to Settings > Developer Options to enable USB Debugging mode.
