This is as a consequence of the unavailability of another headline act, due to be announced this week, we have cancelled the event for now," said the festival's promoters Dainty Group.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald,a spokesperson said that the organizers are still open to the possibility of holding the iHeartRadio festival in Australia in another time.

Ticketholders who paid via credit card will reportedly get refunds automatically, while those who purchased in cash will have to take their tickets back to the ticketing firm of the show.

Internet radio service iHeartRadio was launched in Australia in 2013 and was the first time the Internet radio branched out and took its services overseas.

While Miley Cyrus's iHeartRadio Festival performance has been cancelled, the Australian leg of her "Bangerz" tour will still push through.
