Watch iKON's 'MIX & MATCH' Premiere As Team B Release 'Wait For Me' Digital Single Online

Not only does YG Entertainment have a new talent show to hype up its next K-pop idol group, but a digital single has been released as well.

On September 11, "MIX & MATCH" premiered on Mnet featuring members of Team B as well as other YG trainees who will be competing to debut under the name iKON. Every week, each competitor will showcase their progress to capture viewers' votes and presumably release new music as the show airs.

"Instead of iCON, I replaced the C with K to represent K-pop," said Yang Hyun Suk during a press conference for "MIX & MATCH." "I hope iKON will become a group that represents Korea."

Reportedly, the group will consist of three members from Team B, the boy group which lost to WINNER on the survival program "Who is Next: WIN."

"Team B's leader B.I, Bobby, and Kim Jin Hwan are already fixed members," elaborated Yang Hyun Suk. "The system will feature the other six who will compete with two being eliminated."

In the premiere episode of "MIX & MATCH," we are introduced to new trainees Jung Jin Hyung, Jung Chan Woo and Yang Hong Seok, who will compete against Team B members Song Yoon Hyung, Kim Dong Hyuk and Goo Joon Hee for the remaining four slots of iKON.

After the episode premiered on Mnet's official YouTube channel, some viewers criticized B.I.'s attitude due to the potential splitting up of Team B.

"B.I. is rude, [but] I also understand where he's coming from because he sees the other three members as his brothers," commented Jing on YouTube. "However, this is a cut throat industry and only the most talented can survive, therefore as a leader, it would not only be in his benefit, but his team's to change for the better."

Team B's single "Wait For Me," which was featured in episode one, was digitally released on the same day as the broadcast.
