When Justin Min showed up for Hood by Air's Spring 2015 Ready-to-Wear fashion show on Sunday, a part of New York City's Fashion Week, the last person the 2NE1 fan expected to see was the group's frontwoman, CL, taking in the cutting edge fashions directly in front of him.

"I was sitting right across from her," said Min, who works in Manhattan as a fashion editor.

"I don't think a lot of people knew who she was. But people who knew music knew who she was. As she got up to leave, I walked over to her to and said 'can I get a photo?'"

Though CL looked exhausted, most likely the result of jet lag, the 2NE1 rapper was still a class act.

"She was friendly," Min recalled. "She said 'yeah.' She put her arm around me and we took the photo. Then I left. I didn't say anything. I just said 'thank you.'  Then I kind of gave her a little wink and she smiled back."

Though the 2NE1 rapper had an entourage to potentially distract her at the fashion show, he recalls CL being totally absorbed in the event.

"She had a ton of her people sitting around her," Min said. "But she was definitely engaged in the show. She was really paying attention."

When asked if there was anything else that stood out to him about the experience of meeting one of his favorite artists, he recalled CL's footwear.

"She was wearing these tall, thigh-high suede boots with gold all down the side," Min said.

The fashion editor, whose parents were both born in Korea, was also struck by the K-pop star's relaxed composure.

"She was very collected, very calm," Min said. "She's not frantic."

The first generation Korean-American believes it is this same genuine, down to earth quality that separates CL from other artists.

"You can tell it's really her in the music," he said. "She has so much control over the music...she has pure, raw talent."

"She's a real pop star," he added. "In this day and age, we haven't seen a real pop star since Britney Spears. CL is the real deal. That's why we like her."
