‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Movie Makes The $300 Million Mark, ‘No Good Deed’ Earns Big This Friday

'Guardians of the Galaxy,' the superhero film by Marvel and Disney collaboration, made the $300 million mark at the home front this Friday.

According to Hollywood Reporter, described the 'Guardians of the Galaxy, as the "first film of 2014 so far to achieve that milestone."

Worldwide, it was estimated that the film would rake in $600 million by next week.

Meanwhile, the Sony thriller 'No God Deed,' is this Friday's top film, grossing $8.8 million, surpassing the family movie, Dolphin Tale2 in second with $4.3 million.

Hollywood Reporter said 'No Good Deed,' was doing well in the box office due to the fact that it has targeted the black audience and only cost little to produce, $13 million.

The movie is starred by Idris Elba and Taraji Henson, which provided moviegoers the right crime/thriller. It is estimated to earn at least $20 million over the weekend.

DolphinTale2, a sequel, of the 2011 film, did not open with a bang as expected and cost at least $36 million in production. Analysts see a $16 million earning this weekend for the film which has an ensemble of Harry Connick Jr., Ashley Judd, Morgan Freeman and Kris Kristofferson, which all returned to the sequel.

Fox Searchlight's 'The Drop,' which stars the late James Gandolfini, also broke out for a semi-wide release.

'The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby,' a romantic film, is being shown on a limited release was also another movie lined up this weekend

'Atlas Shrugged' sequel earned $190,000 Friday and is expected to gross $590,000 by the end of the weekend.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is still raking in money with an estimated earning of $5 million more this weekend. It has so far earned over $170 million.
