WINNER Wants Theirs Fans To Feel Like Winners

Boy band WINNER has topped Japan's Oricon Music Chart with their Japanese debut album "2014 S/S - Japan Collection," which was released on September 10.

WINNER set a new record for themselves, selling a total of 35,079 albums and ranking No. 2 on the Oricon Daily Chart, according to the Korean media outlet Osen Entertainment.

The five-member idol group has already ranked No. 1 on various music charts within Korea with their debut album and has continued to impress fans across Asia, despite being a rookie group.

Even before their debut, WINNER had quite a bit of pressure on their shoulders as they've been compared to K-pop superstars Big Bang.

"That's why we're really making an effort to show our different colors. Be it our clothing or style, we won't try to imitate. We'll try to figure out what's different and what's really more our own," WINNER member Kang Seung-yoon told Billboard.

Along with the success of their Japanese debut album, WINNER successfully held their first solo concert in Japan on September 11. The boys of the K-pop group reportedly made sure to show off their signature style as they sang the tracks they wrote and composed themselves for their many fans.

"Our music is made not to beat other people or to 'win.' We want our music to make the people listening feel like winners and get positive, strong vibes from it," stated Kang Seung-yoon after completing the two-hour concert.

WINNER will be continuing their tour in Japan with performances at Sapporo, Fukuoka, Nagoya, Namba and Tokyo from September 28 until October 11. The boy band will be holding a total of 11 concerts.

WINNER was also given the opportunity to meet with their fans earlier today through the program "Naver Guest On Air - A Talk With WINNER."

As the world is quickly falling in love with WINNER, the boy band is giving their all to live up to their name.

"In five years, we want to be a group deserving of the name WINNER. Hopefully, we'll be in the middle of our own world tour," stated Kang, according to the publication Asia One.
