Despite rumors that Kristen Wiig and Scott Speedman have been seen canoodling recently, the pair has denied that they are dating.

Speedman also wants the world to know that he hates when the lines between his personal life and career get blurred.

"[Kristen and Scott] have been friends for a long time," a source reportedly told E! News after speculation grew that the pair may be an item.

Gossip that Wiig, 41, and Speedman, 39, were dating grew when InTouch Weekly reported that the two have been "hooking up lately."

According to the Daily Mail, the pair was spotted holding hands at a Toronto Film Festival after party in early September.

"They spent the entire night laughing and talking," claimed the source.

The publication also stated that several sources said that the duo left the event together.

But the "Bridesmaids" actress and "Felicity" star say not so fast. The source assures E! News that the two are just friends.

Speedman has been vocal about his dislike for gossip concerning his love life. The actor, who formally dated "Felicity" co-star Keri Russell, told Playboy in 2012 that he prefers for his work and personal life to stay separate.

"I hate stuff that breaks the wall between a movie or a TV show and the people it's made for," explained Speedman.

"You want people to buy in, to believe this fiction we're working so hard to make," he added. "So when you have cameras at rehearsals, people blogging and tweeting everything behind the scenes, what happens to the magic? 'Hey, everyone, Scott's eating a sandwich.' Your personal life becomes your currency. I hate that. So if you see a tweet from me-and they're out there -you know it's fake."

So for now, it looks like Wiig and Speedman are only buddies, who don't hold hands, most likely.
