Lake Bogoria is one of the most fascinating lakes of the Great Rift Valley that physically divides Kenya. Unlike most of Kenya's other nature reserves, the area around Lake Bogoria has yet to become a busy safari destination thus it is calm and tranquil. It contains several remote and peaceful areas in which animals, and particularly flamingos, can be observed at close quarters. The flamingos inhabit the opposite shores due to the high temperatures and sulphurous gases.
