ZE:A And Star Empire Reevaluate Contracts After Lee Hoo Threatens CEO

After publicly calling out Star Empire's CEO, ZE:A's leader has gained more fair terms for the idol group.

Lee Hoo (real name Moon Junyoung) took to Twitter and said that he would reveal documents showing corruption in the company, and went into details about overwork and underpayment to both himself and the other eight members of ZE:A.

After a series of tweets, declaring that he would take care of his group, Lee Hoo returned to Twitter several hours later. He revealed that he and the CEO had spoken and decided to reevaluate ZE:A's contract.

ZE:A's leader revealed on September 21 that he spoke with Star Empire's CEO, Shin Joo Hak. According to the idol's tweets, the two ended up making a truce that would be more favorable to ZE:A, who is Star Empire's top-earning boy group.

The company is also the home to 9Muses, Jewelry, SoReal, and V.O.S.

Lee Hoo wrote, several long tweets, including, "I have finished speaking with the CEO and we decided that we will run Star Empire. It will be ZE:A's company. Everyone, I promised that this would be ZE:A's day."

The leader also took responsibility for the actions that could be seen as disrespectful towards the CEO, asking for people to forgive him.

ZE:A's contract will be rewritten, so that the group earns 70% of all profits while the company earns 30%, which has been reversed until now.

Large groups like ZE:A and Super Junior have spoken up in the past about how it is difficult to spread around earnings when the group hasn't become a top idol act. Lee Hoo also said that there were times when he didn't even earn a single dollar.

Lee Hoo ended the messages saying that he hopes other entertainment companies will reevaluate their actions, and called Shin Joo Hak out for smacking around members, including Lee Hoo.

Shin Joo Hak was seen hitting a member of 9Muses in a BBC documentary, and Korean news outlets are now looking back to that after Lee Hoo's reaffirmation that it wasn't just a once-in-a-while action.

He also said that, while money was a factor, it was the abuse from Shin Joo Hak that had led ZE:A's leader to go public with his anger.

Lee Hoo took responsibility, asking people not to misunderstand his members.

Star Empire has yet to make a statement.
