"Scandal" season 4 spoilers reveal that Fitz and Olivia's relationship is an offshoot of the pair's "addiction to chaos."

Tony Goldwin, who plays Fitz in the Shonda Rhimes' drama series, dished out "Scandal" season 4 spoilers to Vulture magazine as he said that both Olivia and Fitz are "victims of circumstance."

"Their situation is impossible. I think from Fitz's perspective, it's absolutely a sustainable relationship if Olivia would just accept that and commit, but for various reasons, she runs for the hills every time that comes to pass," he said.

He said that although they are very much in love with each other, they are bad for each other. However they couldn't really deny the "unavoidable magnetic pull between them."

"The Olivia and Fitz relationship is extreme, but what Shonda does very, very well is create outrageous, extreme situations that are kind of a mirror for real life," he explained. "The truth is that every single relationship is very complex and full of contradictions; as you get into a more mature relationship, you realize that the contrasts are part of the fabric of every substantive relationship."

In Vulture's "Scandal" season 4 spoilers, Tony Goldwin also said that his character received quite a bad rap for being a philanderer, but Fitz had so many times asked Olivia to go with him and they can live a life together. The President was willing to leave Mellie, but of course the revelation about her being raped only complicated things.

The fact is without Olivia as a distraction, Fitz can better focus on running the country and Mellie. According to Entertainment Weekly's "Scandal" season 4 spoilers, now that Olivia left Washington, Fitz is able to focus on a "very important mission."

"As he begins his second term in office, Fitz has decided to take his administration in a new direction, using his power as POTUS for good in order to make a positive impact on the nation," it said.
