On the 27th Siwon tweeted, "A few days ago Korean idol group 2PM Nichkhun was involved in a traffic accident."

"While drinking and driving which is an absolutely illegal action. To this point Nickhun should regret and refrain from committing such actions ever again. I believe he is examining himself more because of this accident," he continued.

Internet users commented, "Siwon could get criticized for his opinion but he still posted it. It's really bold of him." They also wrote, "It's awesome that he's standing up for his friend." However, some internet users wrote, "Siwon has 2 million followers. He shouldn't have used his influence to sway people," and, "I think it's better to leave things as they are."

2PM Nichkhun had gotten into an accident with a motorcycle on the 24th. He was found to have had drunk before driving, with a blood alcohol level of 0.056%. Thus, his license was confiscated.

NIchkhun tweeted on the 26th concerning the topic: "I want to apologize for hurting anyone through my mistakes. I abandoned my fans who have been supporting and loving me. I won't make a mistake like this ever again. I'm really embarrassed and genuinely disappointed in myself. I'm so sorry." His formal apology was complemented with an announcement that he would stop his career.
