Police Stall Probe Into Seungri’s Car Accident Until Big Bang Member Discharged From Hospital

Big Bang member Seungri was involved in a car accident on the morning of September 12 at the Banpo Bridge in Seoul.

The police investigation for the recent accident involving the K-pop group's youngest member is still pending.

"Seungri has yet to get discharged from the hospital so we haven't started the investigation yet," stated an associate for the Yongsan Police Department, according to the Korean publication Naver.

The boy band member has been moved from the intensive care unit to a regular hospital room, according to an associate for Big Bang's management agency YG Entertainment.

"Seungri's relocation happened a week after he was admitted into the intensive care unit. This happened a while ago," stated the associate.

Although it was initially reported that Seungri would only be hospitalized for about a week, the idol member will remain under medical care for "a bit longer" so he can rest, according to the media outlet MSN Entertainment XIN.

Seungri was unable to perform at the "YG Family 2014 Galaxy Tour: Power In Singapore" concerts on September 13 and 14.

Seungri was returning from the launch party for the fashion brand NONAGON in Gangnam, Seoul when his car hit another vehicle, causing the singer's Porsche to crash into the guardrail and flip over, according the publication The Korea Herald. The two passengers in the other vehicle didn't suffer any major injuries.

Although officials of Seungri's management agency released a statement saying that the hospital results showed no signs of physical injuries, the final test results revealed that the 25-year-old had minor internal bleeding.

"He was not drinking and driving. Considering the car overturning, we're relieved that his injuries are not severe," YG Entertainment announced in a statement, according to the media outlet EnewsWorld.
