Still Single This September? You Might Just Find "The One" In Ireland!

Like many villages on Ireland's west coast, Lisdoonvarna is a quiet, low-key farming community, except in September when 40,000 revelers come to the village from all over the world with one thing on their minds -- romance. The village's 150-year-old matchmaking festival is the largest of its kind in Europe. The festival still features a basadóiri (local matchmakers) as well as amateur horse racing and traditional Irish craic by the pub-load. In keeping with modern mating rituals, it now also includes a speed-dating weekend.
