American Idol’s Former Judge Randy Jackson Is Subject Of Divorce From Wife After 18 Years

Another Hollywood couple is divorcing. American Idol judge Randy Jackson has been served divorce papers after 18 years of marriage.

TMZ reported that Jackson's wife Erica has reportedly ending the marriage citing irreconcilable differences and it also reported that the ex-wife to be might leave with half of what Jackson is worth due to lack of pre nuptial agreement.

Randy has been one of the judges of the hit reality show American Idol for 12 years. He left in 2013 to venture into business but was again asked to come back to the Idol family as in-house mentor. TMZ stated that with an estimated earning of $5 million a year, it is easy to calculate that his net worth is about $40 million.

Depending on what Erica may want, she might get $20 Million after the divorce. TMZ reports said she is seeking spousal support.

Erica when she filed the divorce papers is also seeking for the custody of their two children. They were married in 1995. The said separation was Sept. 11.
"Randy and Erika had a plan (of how they would file) but at the end of the day she decided to file (on Friday). Randy is bummed out. It's not the way he wanted it to happen or end," a close aid of the couple was quoted by TMZ as saying.

Internet reports also said that despite the upcoming divorce the two are getting along fine and infidelity was not part of the break-up.

Jackson was responsible for several hit makers as part of the Idol judges, which produced musical artists like Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson.

American Idol, meanwhile, returns to television in January, according to its web site. The Fox series will be having judges for Season 14 as Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick.
