Nokia Lumia Icon Review, Specs: WP8 Handset Sports 5-inch Full HD Display, Quad-Core Processor, 2GB RAM; The Real Midrange Champion?

Nokia Lumia Icon review, specs: The Windows Phone 8-powered Nokia Lumia Icon sports a 5-inch AMOLED display, a quad-core processor, and 2GB of RAM. PhoneArena describes the phone as “our prayers for the Lumia 1520’s awesome specs to appear in a more manageable body, have seemingly been answered.”

Sporting a competitive price and available for $99.99 on a 2-year service agreement, the Nokia Lumia Icon may be proving itself as the real midrange champion.

The device isn't the largest Windows Phone handset (the 6-inch Lumia 1520) nor it posseses the most advanced camera phone in the US (41-megapixel Lumia 1020), the Icon still sports competitive specs and features, enough to make it the third most powerful Windows smartphone in the market.

DESIGN. Measuring 5.39 x 2.80 x 0.39 inches and weighing 167 grams, the Nokia Lumia Icon's body is not much of a head turner. Its flat, slab design is similar to the Lumia 928, a bit bulky and heavy for its range.

DISPLAY. Its 5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen has a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a pixel density of 441 ppi. What it lacks for design, the Icon makes up for its display. It features rich, bright, and crisp high-definition images that would make its Lumia brothers proud.

PERFORMANCE. There is no doubt about it-the Lumia Icon delivers sound performance because of its powerful processor. However, it failed to have a microSD card slot for external storage, keeping its internal memory at 32 GB.

CAMERA. Like other Lumia models, this smartphone doubles as an impressive camera phone. With 20 megapixels, its rear-facing camera has 4992 х 3744 pixels, six-lens Carl Zeiss optics, optical image stabilization, autofocus, dual-LED flash with 1/2.5'' sensor size, 1.12 µm pixel size, PureView technology, dual capture, geo-tagging, face detection, panorama. Meanwhile, the front-facing camera has an average 1.2 MP.

Retailing on an expensive price tag, the Nokia Lumia Icon is perfect for you if you're after a stellar camera phone with a sound processor and Windows Phone OS.
