Jessica's Exit From Girls' Generation Brings Light To 13-Year-Old g.o.d Case

Girls' Generation member Jessica's exit from the group has devastated K-pop fans all around the world.

Jessica's recent case is bringing on comparisons with an incident that happened 13 years ago when g.o.d member Park Joon Hyung was asked by the K-pop group's former management agency to leave the team, according to the Korean publication Kuki News.

Back in 2001, g.o.d member Park Joon Hyung was reportedly asked to leave the group by Cidus due to his relationship with actress Han Go-un. During the time of his release from g.o.d, the singer held a press conference to express his feelings regarding the management company's decision.

Jessica used social media to release her statement regarding her exit from the nine-member idol group.

"I've been notified by the company and the rest of the eight members of the group that I am no longer a member of Girls' Generation," wrote Jessica on her Weibo account.

The former girl group member added, "I'm shocked because there is no justifiable reason for this."

Despite Jessica's claims, Girls' Generation's management agency, SM Entertainment, reportedly felt differently.

"Jessica was the one that informed us that she would be leaving the group after finishing one last album due to personal reasons," SM Entertainment announced in a statement.

In Park Joon Hyung's case, the other four members of g.o.d rose to defend the singer. g.o.d fans made a site to fight against Cidus' decision as well.

Despite reports that Jessica currently isn't getting the support of Girls' Generation or their fans, the remaining eight members cried during their performance at an event in China as fans sang Jessica's parts of their song "Complete," according to The Korea Herald.

"You guys are the ones I love and have the right to know the truth. I'm incredibly sad, but I don't want you guys to get hurt because of this," Jessica wrote to her fans.
