Los Angeles Lakers News: Bryant 'Feeling Good' In First Practice After Injury, Can He Lead Lakers Back To The NBA Finals?

If you are looking for the latest Los Angeles Lakers news, then it is good to know that their best player Kobe Bryant is feeling good after his first team practice in 10 months.

According to a report from ESPN, Bryant went through two hours and 15 minutes of practice for the team's three-hour practice. The first thing he said to reporters after sitting down is that he feels good.

"I felt normal. I felt like myself. That's a good thing."

Bryant has never practiced with the team since he went down with a torn Achilles tendon injury last season. He has undergone surgery and has been under rehabilitation for months already.

As for newly installed coach Byron Scott, he likes what he is seeing in terms of Bryant's condition.

Kobe looked good," Scott said. "The first drill, the 10 minutes you could see the guys were in shape. Kobe looked good."

In the report, Scott even mentioned that he personally had to tell Bryant to shut it down for the meantime and avoid pushing it too hard during their first team practice.

Meanwhile, Steve Nash, who might as well be playing his last NBA season, has also performed well during the practice. However, he stresses that he needs to check his condition every now and then, especially the minutes he will be playing.

"If I can manage the amount of minutes I'm on the court and keep myself going and don't overdo it to where I can't recover, maybe I got a chance to play a lot more", says Nash in an interview after the practice.

Coach Scott has been focusing on the team's defensive capabilities, and in order to push his players to their limits in playing defense, he made them run a lot for the course of the three-hour practice.

While the Lakers are not seen as title contenders this season, one thing is for sure. Bryant will be aiming to silence his critics and prove that he still has it. And when Kobe starts to make big shots and dominate games, the Lakers will surely have a chance to make a surprise trip to the playoffs.
