Judge Calls Joe Giudice 'Charitable' But Scolds 'Teach Your Daughters Discipline' Before Doling Out 3.5 Years In Prison! Plus Expect No Special Treatment For RHONJ Star Teresa Giudice
It's D Day for Joe and Teresa Giudice, stars of the Real Housewives of New Jerse ! Joe Giudice just recieved 41 months in in federal prison by U.S. District Court Judge Esther Salas, whom was disgusted with the couple. Right before announcing his fate, Judge Salas scolded Joe, saying, "Everyone indulges, but there has to be discipline. You need to teach your daughters discipline. If you don't have it, don't spend it." She concluded her rant with, "I believe you are charitable and a good person, but I am giving you a jail sentence."
Due to teh judge's clear determination to punish the reality stars, Teresa Giudice is expected to recieve 27 months in prison. The sentencing for the RHONJ stars is taking place in Newark today, and we will find out how much trouble Teresa meets later this afternoon. Teresa begged the courts for just probabtion or house arrest due to her four little girls at home without parents, but the judge is not expected to be moved by Terea's plea after flaunting her money around for years on the hit Bravo show.
The judge is clearly trying to make an example of of the reality couple. Teresa adn Joe Giudice are not above the law, despite what they once thought. Can you just picture Teresa in an orange jumpsuit, with a bandana completely covering her miniature forehead!? Can't wait for Teresa to meet her fate behind bars!
Also for Joe, who is an Italian citizen, he may be deported after his long prison term, causing the family even more turmoil. It may be years before the entire family can spend a day under the same roof. We await for Terea's fate, which should be doled out this afternoon and for Tre, the outcome looks glum.
Before Joe Giudice was sentenced, the Real Housewives of New Jersey husband read an inense letter to judge Salas admitting his shame. Joe said, "I stand here humiliated before the court and my family and society," he said. "I disgraced many people, including my wife and four daughters. I take full responsibility for my actions. I promise to be a better person."
Teresa Giudice is still waiting her sentencing and it doesn't look good. Teresa was seen carrying around a $2,500 purse just last week and has been throwing lavish parties despite her lawyer's advice and it is not helping her sentencing. She will most likely receive between 21 and 27 months in prison. Teresa begged the court for no jail time because of her children, but Tre might beg the book thrown at her. The RHONJ couple pleaded guilty to multiple counts of fraud, stealing over $4 million from hard working taxpayers.
The judge was furious with Joe and Teresa. She said there was "inconsistencies and omissions" in the financial disclosure forms filed by the couple and the inconsistencies make it "hard for her me be lenient. They had an obligation to be transparent and candid and open with the court and I don't think I got that," Judge Salas said. "I want to understand the disconnect," she scolded.
The judge said that the duo must pay $414,588.90 in restitution fees, with Joe Giudice facing $7,500 to $75,000 in fines, and Teresa looking at fines of $5,000 to $50,000. As for the children, Teresa said that if both her adn Joe recieve time in prison, the kids would have to be split up. That stinks, but do the crime, pay the time.
Doesn't it feel like Christmas morning? Sometimes judgment is served.
