K-Pop News Weekly Top 3: Jessica's Removal From Girls' Generation, Seungri's Poor Health, G-Dragon's New Drug Scandal

SM Entertainment Confirms Jessica's Withdrawl From The Girls' Generation

Following a message from Jessica Jung on her Weibo account where the singer said that she had been asked to leave Girls' Generation, SM Entertainment confirmed that the nine-member girl group would be moving on without her.

The recent launch of Jessica's fashion brand and continuing speculations about her personal life are seen as the main problems SM Entertainment had, and, according to Jessica's social media posts, the Girls' Generation members agreed with the company that Jessica should no longer be a member of the group.

Jessica has since moved forward with her brand, and Girls' Generation's activities have continued as normal.

Seungri Readmitted To Hospital, Big Bang To Perform At Asian Games Closing Ceremony Without Him

Following a controversial car accident last month that involved the singer's car flipping over, it has been revealed that Big Bang member Seungri's condition is worse than was first announced.

YG Entertainment came under some critiscism for minimizing Seungri's health condition, especially when it turned out that the youngest Big Bang member had to return to the hospital due to overexertion, and that the idol had received treatment in the intensive care unit.

Due to his current poor condition, Seungri did not perform at the closing ceremony for the Asian Games with the other four Big Bang members.

G-Dragon Involved In Social Media-Drug Controversy After 'Molly' Photo Is Added To His Instagram Account

Big Bang's leader G-Dragon also made the news when a picture posted to his Instagram account came under fire for its suggested relationship with illegal drugs.

The controversy died down relatively quickly, as there was no proof that the picture or G-Dragon have any relationship with contraband materials. The picture showed a heart with the word "Molly," the name of a drug popular in clubs, and was removed from G-Dragon's account shortly after fans started commenting on the picture.

There is no evidence that G-Dragon has ever taken Molly, or any drugs other than a marijuana incident in 2011.
