Michael Schumacher News Update: FIA Head Hopeful For ‘Schumi’ To Improve; Son Mick Continues Father’s Legacy With Another Win

Michael Schumacher news update reveals that the FIA head is still hopeful that Schumi will improve as the son of the F1 champ continues his legacy with another win.

Auto Week reported the latest Michael Schumacher news as it revealed that FIA head Jean Todt visited Schumi in his Lake Geneva home.

"In the past weeks and months, he has made progress in relation to the severity of his injury but a long and hard road is in front of him," Todt told L'Equipe as reported byAuto Week.  "Hopefully things will improve. His family is close to him. He needs time and peace"

But the Michael Schumacher news update doesn't really state the condition of the seven-time champion. Previous reports said that as many as 15 people are working round-the-clock to care for Michael Schumacher and it's costing the family as much as £100,000 per week.

The 15-year-old finished second place in the karting finals in Genk, Belgium as he lost to David Beckmann. The impressive showing followed his first-runner up finish at the world championship in France last month.

"The teenager, who has promised this is 'only the beginning' of his career in the sport, has also won the European title this season," noted MailOnline.

But his successes on the track are bittersweet because he couldn't share them with his father who is still recovering from a major head trauma he suffered during a skiing accident in the French Alps in December last year.

Bleacher Report said that Mick Schumacher has a good record, but it's not mind-blowing.

Nevertheless, Mick Schumacher is very much aware of the pressure that his name brings, which even prompted him during the early part of his career to carry his mother's maiden name when racing. One thing going for him, according to the report, is that he won't have any problem getting sponsors considering his pedigree.
