As the K-pop world is hit with another potential relationship scandal, many are comparing G-Dragon's alleged relationship with Mizuhara Kiko to another celebrity couple.

Recently, a slew of photos were released by Dispatch showing what appeared to be Big Bang leader G-Dragon interacting closely with model Mizuhara Kiko, including ones that depicted the pair hugging and cuddling together. The nature of these photos are reminding some K-pop fans of the way Girls' Generation's Taeyeon and EXO's Baekhyun were discovered to be a couple.

"Hope people won't bash them like they did to Taeyeon and Baekhyun," tweeted Samantha13manga on Twitter.

In June, Taeyeon and Baekhyun confirmed their relationship through their record label SM Entertainment after photos of the pair together were released by Dispatch. This caused intense reactions from K-pop fans around the world.

"Having started off as close friends, the two recently developed feelings for each other and are in the beginning stages," said a representative of SM Entertainment.

After the release of the Dispatch article regarding G-Dragon, YG Entertainment also responded the alleged relationship between the 26-year-old rapper and Kiko.

"We tend to respect the personal lives of our artists so we don't have anything to tell you at the moment," the agency revealed.

Regarding the increasing number of confirmed K-pop idol relationships, Super Junior's Heechul spoke on the matter on JTBC's "Ssul Jeon."

"This is what I always say. You can't help but date," said the 31-year-old. "How could handsome and pretty people not date?"

This month, f(x) member Krystal conducted an interview with High Cut magazine, saying that she would not go public with a relationship like Taeyeon and Baekhyun.

“I believe that if I wanted to date, I could start dating now. It’s not like I’m not dating because of work. However, I don’t think I’ll go public with my relationship.”
