X-Men, Fantastic Four, X-Factor TV Series In The Works! Quicksilver In Lead Role? Will Fox Also Follow Marvel’s Crossover Strategy With ‘Agents of SHIELD?’

The Marvel paradigm is now the gold standard for all the film outfits with superhero franchises. When Marvel made "Agents Of SHIELD" and it was situated in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fox has plans to make a live action X-Men, X-Factor and even a crossover with their other property, the Fantastic Four.

The recent crossover rumor between Sony and Marvel where Spider Man will make an appearance with the Avengers (Spider Man did become a member of the Avengers in the comic books) is rocking the super hero landscape and Fox is the odd one out when this happens.

The first rumblings came from Bleeding Cool:

"That Fox are currently in deep development on a live-action X-Men TV show. And are starting to get interest in that as well. Which is how it leaked to us."

The site did admit that they did not have details, but Film Divider obliges with the revelation that casting is the main issue at the moment:

"Development of Fox's mutant TV offshoot has been taking a while because the central cast of characters is proving difficult to nail down. It might seem that there's a fear of using no-name characters, worried that this will cost them viewers (cf. Agents of SHIELD), but also concern that burning up heavy hitters could cut off potential streams of movie revenue.

The solution they seem to be heading for is pretty sensible. For a start, one of the characters they've considered is Quicksilver. This makes perfect sense given his star-making turn in Days of Future Past, not to mention Evan Peters' career bringing him back and forth between TV and movie work. I'm sure that both actor and character would make a great contribution to the show if this is how they do decide to go. What we don't know is if considering Quicksilver means the show would be a period piece, if the role would be recast, or if there's some other trick that could be pulled."

Fox is learning from Marvel. "Agents of SHIELD" struggles as there no superheroes in the cast. That would be a stretch considering the Avengers cast consists of A-listers. The X-Men has recognizable stars that are not as expensive-Evan Peters being a great example.
