$25 for One 'S.M Art Exhibition' Ticket?

How different would an exhibition be if it were created by SM Entertainment?

Yesterday, SM Entertainment and their artists held a preview of their 'SM Art Exhibition' at the COEX Exhibition Center. There have been many exhibits that featured celebrities, but there has not been one where the celebrities were the center of attention at an IT exhibit.

Many reporters from all over the country came to the preview as this event was another glimpse of SM's ever growing businesses.

If SM does it, it's different?

This exhibition will be held from August 10-19. SM Entertainment stated, "This exhibition is a collaborative event with SM's premium contents and digital IT. This partnered event will sure to please the audiences."

SM director Kim Young Min commented, "If you think of it as an exhibition, it is no different from other ones. However, the fact that entertainment is the main focus of the event makes it different from others as well. The fact that this exhibition will also be exported overseas as well is a big accomplishment."

He continued, "SM, who has always been making music, has recently delved into dramas and musicals. This exhibition will be SM's newest business in the making."

Girls' Generation member Yuri commented, "I was curious to see how the video would turn out. I was able to experience something new through this exhibition."

Ticket Pricing, Can this be fixed?

For this exhibition, it will cost $25 for a pink ticket and $85 for a silver ticket. A silver ticket allows you to enter through a separate gate first as well as receive a special gift. They believed that this price range was acceptable for a high school student.

How did the people who bought tickets react to this exhibition? They all seemed to come to a consensus that it was a new and eye-opening experience.

In the middle of the exhibition was a 'Circle View with Samsung' which showed off videos of the artists. There was also a 'Panorama 3D Theater' where guests could watch their favorite artists dance right before their eyes.

The 'Live Hologram' also allowed the guests to experience a concert as if they were really there.

However, there was also some criticism in that most of the public was already aware of these new IT technologies.

Exhibition to be Exported Overseas

The total cost of this exhibition was 56 million dollars. SM had anticipated at least 50,000 people to come see the exhibit within the 10 days it was open. Although it seems they had lost some money through this, they plan to export this exhibit next year to Japan, U.S., Europe and other countries as well.

It is also quite possible that other major companies will be willing to sponsor them as well.

This 'SM Art Exhibition' gained much attention, however it seemed that it did not quite meet their expectations. They are hoping that when they export the exhibition they will receive a better response.
