Salvation Mountain Isn't Just Another Weird Tourist Attraction, It's Also A Place Of Love

Salvation Mountain is located in the unofficial town of Slab City, just outside of Niland, California. It is a huge art installation done over a few decades by Leonard Knight who started it in 1984. Everything that you see here is made from clay (adobe) dug out of the hillside and hay - covered with thousands of gallons of paint. Leonard Knight created it with one simple message in mind that he wanted to share to the whole world: God Is Love. Salvation Mountain has also been featured in the film "Into the Wild".
