Psy's music video for "Gangnam Style" is as popular now as it ever was and now has surpassed 2.1 billion views.

On October 6, the viral music video sped past the 2.1 billion views mark on YouTube and is continuing to break its own record.

On May 31, "Gangnam Style" hit 2 billion views, being the only video in YouTube history to reach the incredible milestone. Now, just over four months later, it has climbed to the next benchmark.

"Gangnam Style" was released in 2012 and continues to be a hit around the world more than two years later. It beat Justin Beiber's "Baby" to become the most viewed video in YouTube history.

When it reached 2 billion views, Psy stated, "It is an overwhelming and honorable number. With a thankful heart, I will return with better content."

Psy recently performed during the opening ceremony for the 2014 Incheon Asian Games with pianist Lang Lang.
