Dal Shabet's Woohee Completes Surgery For Collapsed Lung

After being admitted to the hospital on October 10, Dal Shabet's Bae Woohee has reportedly completed her surgery for a collapsed lung (pneumothorax).

"Woohee was hospitalized on the [Wednesday] due to a collapsed lung," said an official statement from Dal Shabet's record label Happy Face Entertainment. "We're monitoring her condition following a few days of hospital treatment. It hasn't been decided whether she'll be receiving surgery. She's doing her best to take care of her body."

On October 14, it was reported Woohee underwent surgery to treat her condition. The K-pop singer is currently in stable condition. According to Soompi, Woohee received surgery for the same condition four years earlier.

The 22-year-old singer is the newest addition to Dal Shabet, replacing founding member Kang Eun Hye, known to fans as Viki, back in 2012, roughly four months after the group debuted.

Woohee is not the only member of the group to have been hospitalized this year.

Back in May, singer Cho Subin was involved in a car accident in which her van was allegedly totaled. Local authorities ruled the cause to be driver negligence, according to the South Korean publication MyDaily.

Reportedly, Woohee will not be focused on recovery and will not be participating in any of Dal Shabet's activities. Hopefully, she will recover in time for the planned January comeback for the group.

Last month, Happy Face Entertainment released a new girl group called MINX, which is being promoted as the sister group of Dal Shabet.

"With the liveliness characteristic of girl groups and a uniqueness to MINX, the group will hit the music industry with force in the second half of 2014," said the agency according to allkpop. "We ask for as much love and support as the girls devoted to preparations."
