After the Nickelodeon sitcom "Sam & Cat," was cancelled there were reports that Jennette McCurdy was jealous of Ariana Grande. The Jennette McCurdy Ariana Grande feud spilled into the headlines after reports that "Sam & Cat" was cancelled in part because Jennette McCurdy leaked almost naked selfies on Instagram. The iCarly star's pictures weren't naked, actually, but they were adult enough to have the media speculate that Jennette McCurdy leaked them to get attention at least.

Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy were friends when the series began, but troubles leaked when McCurdy didn't show up to support Grande or Nickelodeon at the Kids Choice Awards.

Other reports said "Sam and Cat" was cancelled by Nickelodeon because Grande lost interest after her music career exploded.

Jennette McCurdy told The Hollywood Reporter saying "I wanted What's Next for Sarah to be a light-hearted call-out to some of the more absurd experiences I've faced growing up in the entertainment industry. My goal was to exaggerate some of the more classic Hollywood archetypes -- the phony reporter, the insincere agent, the duplicitous casting director -- and heighten them to a surreal extent that we can all laugh at. We all have those moments where we feel like the world is entirely crazy, and we're the only sane person."

Producer Jesse Bloch added that What's Next For Sara?" is "is influenced from experiences in Jennette's career in Hollywood. Some are quite truthful and others completely exaggerated, but they're all meant to show the absurd moments of living in the spotlight of the entertainment industry that one goes through from time to time."

But when Jennette McCurdy isn't in front of the camera, she continues to do important work for kids. Most recently kids with cancer at  St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Jennette McCurdy is paying forward her success on Nickelodeon's "iCarly" and its spinoff "Sam and Cat." McCurdy has visited St. Jude's many times over the years as a celebrity ambassador for the hospital. She meets with patients, signs autographs and poses for photos.

McCurdy is also a spokesperson for the St. Jude Math-A-Thon, along with Ariana Grande and Nathan Kress.
