Luhan's Lawsuit Against SM Entertainment Continues To Receive Attention

Group EXO member Luhan's lawsuit for SM Entertainment is furthering on in the process.

Soon a ruling will be made regarding the lawsuit or a way to find an agreement between the two sides.

Luhan's lawsuit is checking whether his contract with SM Entertainment is legitimate. If the result rules that Luhan's contract is illegitimate, he does not have to stay with SM Entertainment.

The very first step is to look over the contracts with SM Entertainment which were established in the beginning. There needs to be a check of whether the contracts were signed with both the artist and agency on the same level.

In addition, the pay is another factor. According to Luhan's lawsuit, there has been a difference between EXO-K and EXO-M's pay. Since last October, SM Entertainment has paid about 530,000,000 won (less than $500,000), which he argued was extremely low compared to the success of the group.

SM Entertainment has changed their rules regarding the termination of contracts. It is different than in 2009 with Super Junior Han Kyung and the JYJ members.

Earlier in the year, EXO member Kris filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment to terminate his contract.

Since then, Kris has actively begun his career in China.

The focus is now on Luhan's lawsuit and the direction it will take.
