Halloween Costume Ideas 2014: Ebola Outfit To Become A Trend Despite Ethical Debates? Company Selling Costume Says They Might Even Release ISIS-Inspired Garb

As some people continuously search for Halloween costume ideas 2014, New York Post predicts that Ebola-inspired costumes will be "hot" this year. However, several groups have aired their grievances regarding the possible costume trend.

"Normally I think that irony and humor is funny, but this thing with the costumes, is it really that funny? I mean, Ebola's not even under control yet," said Maria McKenna, a doctor's assistant in Philadelphia.

McKenna similarly told Associated Press that the thought of wearing such costume rubs her the wrong way.

On the other hand, Kathryn Getek Soltis, Director of the Center for Peace and Justice Education and Assistant Professor of Christian Ethics at Villanova University, believes that using Ebola for Halloween costume ideas 2014 distracts people from realizing the intensity of the outbreak.

"It allows people to stay far from the situation and not to imagine the human suffering that's actually occurring," she declared. "The issue isn't that you're a bad person because you have an insensitive costume, it's that actually you're closing yourself and the people around you off from trying to understand how you might be able to participate in this issue in a way that affects people's lives."

One online costume shop, BrandsOnSale, is already selling an "Ebola Containment Suit Costume" for $79.99. The set comes with a white suit as well as the standard protective tools like safety goggles, a face shield, a breathing mask, and a pair of latex gloves.

"You are sure to be prepared if any outbreak happens at your Halloween party. This will literally be the most 'viral' costume of the year," read the costume description.

Company chief executive Johnathon Weeks claims that their company does not steer clear from controversial costumes. He hints that they might even come up with an ISIS costume "complete with a fake machine gun."
