Darksiders 2 is now available as one of the free games for Xbox Live Gold members for October 2014!

The action-packed video game from THQ became a free title for the Xbox Live Gold subscribers today. It replaced "Battlefield: Bad Company 2," which was available to members for 0 Microsoft Point from October 1-15.

Originally priced at $49.99 at the Xbox Store, Darksiders 2 is set to be one of the free games for Xbox Live Gold members until October 31. The description for Darksiders 2, as posted on IGN, reads:

"Darksiders II follows the exploits of Death, one of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, in a weaving tale that runs parallel to the events in the original Darksiders game. This epic journey propels Death through various light and dark realms as he tries to redeem his brother War, the horseman who was blamed for prematurely starting the Apocalypse in Darksiders."

Meanwhile, Xbox One users with Xbox Live Gold membership can get the recently-launched game, Chariot, without any fee at all.

Chariot is a physics-based couch co-op platform game from  ID@Xbox and it was released for Microsoft's latest console as a free download for Xbox Live Gold members.

In addition to the free games for Xbox Live Gold members for October 2014, gamers can also avail various discounted games via Microsoft's Deals With Gold.

Week 14 of Deals with Gold offers 25% off to Xbox One title "Outlast," which is a first-person survival horror video game from Red Barrels.

Rayman Legends and Worms Battlegrounds are also on sale for Xbox One users with Gold membership. Meanwhile, some of the Xbox 360 games with price markdown are Dragon Age Origins, Kingdoms of Amalur and more.
