Nokia XL vs. Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2: These two Android-powered handsets are also budget-friendly and in this review we compare them on key specs. Which of this handset would you buy?

A quick search on Amazon shows that Nokia XL is priced at $150, while the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 is sold at an average price of $160.

The Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 has a 4-inch TFT capacitative touchscreen, smaller than what the Nokia XL has. The latter has a 5-inch IPS LCD display. Resolution of both devices is at 480 x 800 pixels with the Duos 2 having a 233.2 PPI and the Nokia XL having a 186.6 PPI.

In a review by the International Business Times, it notes that the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 is considered a hybrid between the Samsung Galaxy S2, a famous 2011 flagship model, and the Samsung Galaxy S3. Nokia XL comes from the supposedly Android handsets made by the Finnish mobile company (Microsoft, which now owns Nokia announced it will no longer have future Android handsets).

The Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and runs on a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, while the Nokia XL runs on a modified version of Android called Nokia X and is powered with a 1GHz Snapdragon S4 processor.

The devices have numerous similarities in terms of RAM, storage and camera. Both the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 and the Nokia XL has 768MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, expandable with microSD support. Both Androids also have a 5MP rear camera, with the Nokia handset coming with an LED flash and a 2MP front-facing snapper. The XL is also called the “selfie phone.”

In terms of battery life, the Samsung Galaxy Duos 2 has a 1,500mAh Li-Ion battery while the Nokia XL has a 2,00mAh Li-Ion battery. Both of these handsets have GPRS, 3G, WiFi, bluetooth and GPS support.
