As the clouds painted in black and the shadow of the rain lingering outside the Galleria Chatime, Puchong, the air inside breathed contrary as it was saturated with anticipation. The Galleria hall was packed with fans whom patiently waiting for the 'Prince of the Day'. As a 'silver-white stallion' was parked outside the venue, the clock suddenly rang sharp at 7pm and Eric Nam emerged on the center of the hall, casting his gorgeous smile, simultaneously swept the sorrow weather away.

In this maiden visit to Malaysia, the charming Eric commenced his Favourite Youtube Icon (F.Y.I) On Stage in Kuala Lumpur with Love Song, a lullaby-like song with a clear strings of guitar sound; rich with feeling that warmth the audience's heart. Fluent in multiple languages, he also showcased his command of those languages by performing the English version of BigBang Taeyang's Eyes, Nose, Lips, Say Something by A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera and Wang Lee Hom's Ni Bu Zai (You're Not Here). When he was asked about his command in Mandarin language, he stated that he went to China for volunteer project during his undergraduate years and while staying there, he attended classes and learnt the language. However, despite learning the language, he still has that slight nervous feeling when he singing any Mandarin song.

Friendly Eric v Joker Eric

As the venue of this showcase was very intimate, the close proximity brought togetherness between Eric and his beloved fans. Instead of meeting the 'Idol Eric', the vibe throughout the show was friendlier and it felt like a class reunion with Eric as the Class President, gathering his classmates from high school and have a catch-up session. Just like how we always start to talk about our days or jobs during reunion, that's precisely what Eric was doing. He was story telling to his fans on how he attended series of interviews in the morning, sipping coffee and made dumplings too for the interview. This beautiful bond between Eric and the fans were strengthened even more when he asked the fans to teach him a Malay song and he was being taught a famous folk track entitled Rasa Sayang.

Even though he seems like the sweet and charming type of man, Eric also possessed a comical character within him. During a public fan meeting, which was held as a prelude a day before his showcase, he was teasing and making random jokes with the fans, being the highlight was his brief salsa moves on stage. Indeed, dancing was not his forte, but due to his latest dance-song track Ooh Ooh that required him to do some grooves, the audience was expecting him to dance to that song. To the fans' shocked, he spiced up the stage by flashing the basic salsa moves. Even the MC was not spared from being teased by him.

Eric's Ideal Girl

This probably the hottest topic for every idol's to deal with. Who would it be? Gisele Bundchen look alike? A stunner like Scarlet Johansson? Heroic glam girl Jennifer Lawrence? Or a sweet songstress like Taylor Swift? Well wait no more as the mystery girl was revealed in the 'My Ideal Type' game. Those who closest to the following unique characteristics emerged as the winner and walked away with a Polaroid opportunity with Eric and a cute Kakaotalk figurine (brown eyes, shoulder length hair, aged 19 years old and above, wearing glasses or lenses, left handed, smart, taller than 160cm, able to converse in Korean, able to play soccer, definitely own Eric's album).

Compatibility test

Ok..maybe choosing the Ms Right through those unique qualities was not effective enough. Here comes the 'compatibility test', and both Eric and the lucky fans were tested to examine if they were compatible to each other. Was he a fan of coffee or tea? A coffee addict as he is, he chose coffee while a battle of hip-places between Gangnam or Hongdae? Gangnam it is! Next was his preference towards a son or daughter and looks like our dear Eric love boys more, hence a son was his choice. He also chose comedy over horror and but can't made up his mind over hugs and kisses; hence he chose both. Miraculously, one of the fans succeeds to have a 4 compatible answer with him and walked away with a Polaroid opportunity with Eric.

Earlier during the fan meeting session, he was asked between Mark or Jackson of Got7 as both idols appeared as his guest MC in the After School Club show. Looks like he was put on the hot spot for this question. He admitted that both have different charms and unique on their own. Jackson was more outspoken and noisy, while Mark was the contrary. Future Eric

Rode a time machine and fast forward to the future, Eric stated that he will continue making music and hoping to try acting to branch out his skills. He also added that he would love to host his own talk show ala Ellen Degeneres or Jimmy Fallon; but music always his top priority. He wishes to get a chance to spread his wings around the world especially in his home country, US.

This charming Prince who is willing to wait for his princess at the heaven's door wrapping up this beautiful 'ball' gathering (of course minus the glamourous Ellie Saab gowns, tiaras and tux) with his debut song Heaven's Door followed by Ooh Ooh before proceeding to fan sign session. Rather than bidding Goodbye, it was indeed a lovely and fun Hello! With Eric Nam.
