Months after its main run in U.S. theaters, "Guardians of the Galaxy" continues to garner interest as a new special edition of the soundtrack was announced. The special edition will match Star-Lord's cassette tape and be complete with two sides to make "Awesome Mix Vol. 1." And if there was any doubt about just how much people love "Guardians of the Galaxy," the international box office numbers have come in and the off-beat superhero film has now made over $700 million in box office gross.

Back around the time that "Guardians of the Galaxy" was poised to hit theaters, Chris Pratt told Vulture what he'd put on his own "Awesome Mix Vol. 1" if he could have one.

"I'm a big country music fan, so probably a lot of Garth Brooks, Eric Church, George Strait. Maybe some good '80s music - we were listening to some Madonna in the car today; I was singing the Patrick Swayze song from ‘Dirty Dancing' today," said Pratt.

While Pratt's music may not get past a youtube playlist, fans of the popular "Guardians of the Galaxy" soundtrack should be happy to know that a nostalgic cassette version will be released in November. According to Coming Soon, "ws part of the upcoming Record Store Days festivities, the album will see release on a replica cassette tape designed to match the copy owned by Chris Pratt's Star-Lord."

Although one may not even own a cassette player these days, perhaps Marvel can afford to also provide players with the tape given that "Guardians of the Galaxy" has now crossed the $700 million box office gross mark. Forbes reports that the space superhero film is now only behind "Iron Man 3" and "The Avengers" in terms of box office gross of all Marvel films released so far.
