Wardrobe Inspection: K-Pop's Best Dressed - October 2014

We had a great month with all of the comebacks and concepts that came out. But it is now time to look at who came out on top!

BOYFRIEND - "WITCH"

Boyfriend made a return this past October with the spine chilling Vampire concept for their "Witch" music video. Each member dawned a thick set of fangs and crazy colored contacts to further show off the Vampire flare. Up until this point since Boyfriend's debut, this has been their darkest concept and helps to display their forever growing charisma.

Super Junior - "This is Love"

Super Junior graced us with an Old West theme for September comeback, "MAMACITA". However, this time around, Super Junior returned to their classy suit and tie look for their follow-up track of September, "This is Love". These suits feature a long coat grayscale style that pops with each little red flare the members add to their collars and pockets. Well done!

RED VELVET - "Be Natural"

Speaking of suits, Red Velvet also made their return this October with "Be Natural", a sensual remake of the original S.E.S song. The follow-up song was a drastic change from Red Velvet’s previously promoted track, “Happiness”. Instead of a funky sound with a vast array of colors, the four ladies took a turn for the classy side with black and white suits and in a bold red version as well.

VIXX – "Error"

Staying true to their trend of dark themed music videos, VIXX released the heartstring pulling music video their latest song, “Error”. VIXX’s main concept for this music video was that of dark cyborg theme as they try to hold on to pain that comes with saving love. VIXX has been know to perfectly execute even the most gore-like concepts and the fashion for ERROR is just further proof. VIXX transitions from skeletal robots to suits and even a red and black themed attire. At one point, Hongbin even strips his shirt revealing a finely toned set of abs; so he also get the award for 'Best Undressed of October 2014'!

GAEKO – "No Makeup"

Accompanied by the smooth sounds of Gaeko, Zion.T, and HA:TFELT, is a slick and simple yet incredibly classy look. HA:TFELT is shown in a simple white blouse paired with a sleek black pencil skirt and black pumps. Gaeko himself is also in a simple white knit sweater and ripped jeans. In this particular video, Zion.T seems to have the look that stands out the most dawning a modern sunflower patterned blazer and a large ascot hat. Both Zion.T and Gaeko also seemed to have done a bit of accessorizing as they are seen with a number of bracelets and rings.

Epik High – "Born Hater"

“Barn Hater” featured a number of rappers in the music video each in their own setting. The overall theme they exhibit for their style is comfortable yet home-like forms of street wear. In the case of MINO and Bobby, the two seem to be a more underground rebellious style. Even the ladies the music go for the street wear look.

Strawberry Milk – "OK"

The adorable twins of Crayon Pop made their debut as the unit Strawberry Milk and it couldn’t be more befitting. Playing a long with theme of their unit name, the music videos and outfits are drenched in a soft pink coat of color. Key points on the duo’s pink outfits are the straws that come attached to the back of the dainty dresses. Later into the video, the twins come out in strawberry dresses complete with a leafy collar and forks instead of straws. They are just cute enough to eat!

Seo In Young – Zion. T – "Thinking of You"

Seo In Young returned in mid-October for the relaxing R&B track, “Thinking of You”, featuring R&B icon, Zion.T. Surrounding Seo In Young is a plethora of eye catching colors and bold make-up. Zion.T’s look on the other hand is the complete opposite. His is more relaxed and casually dressing only in a button down, sweat and jeans; let’s not forget the man0skirt. Later in the video Seo In Young’s theme changes from colorful and playful to dark and luxurious.

BTS - "War of Hormone"

Following their hit song “Danger”, BTS released their follow-up track, “War of Hormone”, on the 21st and with it came a new spin aside from their schoolboy image. The boys remained in the school scene but altered their style to fit a rebellious hormone driven boy. It’s almost as if this video portrays the boys taking a break from school on the weekend. The style is more individual than a school uniform.

Zhoumi - "Rewind"

Zhoumi made it just in time to make the list for October’s best dressed having released his music video on Halloween. Zhoumi’s tall figure is accentuated by a sleek black button down and with his mile long legs covered in checker print. Zhoumi also at one point dresses up with class a perfectly ironed vibrant blue suit that not many can pull off. Resident EXO rappers, Tao and Chanyeol, as well make appearances in the "Rewind" music video; of course the two remain looking as charismatic and alluring as ever. Props to Zhoumi and let’s looks forward to more activities for his solo debut!
