‘Inuyasha: The Final Act’ English Dub To Air On Toonami, Final Season To Be Edited For TV-MA Rating

Although it's been a few years since it was released, "Inuyasha: The Final Act" will finally air on TV. Today it was announced that Toonami will air the final season of popular anime "Inuyasha," but there will be a few changes. For starters, fans should recall that there was a change in the english dub cast for the character of Kagome. In addition, Toonami will have to edit "The Final Act" to make the show safe for Cartoon Network viewers.

Rumiko Takahashi, creator of "Inuyasha" finished the manga serialization and spoke to the Quarterly S (via Facebook) about how it felt to finish.

" Without regrets, it was a breath of relief when I finished drawing. Again, to all those who supported me over the years: the readers, the staff and successive managers, those involved with the anime, and everyone else involved in this project have my deepest gratitude," said Takahashi.

Rumiko Takahashi also admitted to feeling torn about how to end the series, which perhaps explains how long it took for her to finish.

"The biggest issue was whether to have the heroine Kagome remain in the past or the present at the end, and since the anime's completion in 2004, I'd been constantly torn about it. As a result, that was the time I had the feeling I should be storyboarding the final chapter," explained Takahashi. "Regardless of which world she chose, "separation" was unavoidable, so in the end, I decided I wanted to go in a direction where Kagome was happy, and people would still be pleased when they finished reading."

The wait for the anime version of the final manga, "Inuyasha: The Final Act" ended in 2010, when Viz Media released the 26 episodes on Blu-ray and DVD, with a new main voice actress for Kagome. For those fans who have somehow missed the release or the streaming of the series via Hulu and Netflix, they will now get a chance to watch it on TV. According to Anime News Network, Toonami will air the series starting November 15 in its 2:00AM TV slot.

Toonami staff also mentioned that they will have to edit the series for a TV-MA rating, but it is not too clear what will be cut out (more than likely the cursing above all else). Until "Inuyasha: The Final Act" english dub airs on TV, fans can catch up on all the previous episodes of "Inuyasha" on Hulu.
