American Horror Story Season 4: Freak Show Gets Neil Patrick Harris For A Guest Spot; Davit Burka Joins Too

"American Horror Story" season 4 boasts of its diverse cast and now it gets a new addition in the person of Neil Patrick Harris!

The comedian, along with his husband David Burtka, has signed to guest at "American Horror Story" season 4, reports TVLine.

This year's Oscars host will reportedly appear on two episodes of the show - the eleventh and the twelfth - as a "chameleon salesman." Burtka will play a love interest for Jessica Lange's Elsa Mars and will appear on the season finale.

Talks of having Harris in the horror anthology series has been going around for some time and the actor himself has signified his interest in being part of the show.

In an interview with EW Radio in July, Harris mentioned that he asked the show's co-creator Ryan Murphy via a letter if he could take part in it.

"I wrote a letter to Ryan asking if I can be in it, even though I wasn't even available to be in it," Harris said (quoted via People). To do one that involves any kind of freak, circus nonsense is going to be so unsettling to watch. Can't wait!"

Murphy took to Twitter to respond to Harris's interest and said, "@ActuallyNPH of course you can be on Freak Show! I have a role I think you'd love."

The "American Horror Story" season 4 creator also spoke of Harris's interest in being part of the show in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, saying "He's game; he had very specific ideas about what he wanted to do and I have specific ideas. We're working on melding those." He continued, "I'd love to see him and Jessica Lange go at it in a really funny way and Neil seems intrigued by that notion. We're inching forward."

"American Horror Story" season 4 airs Wednesdays at 10 pm on FX.
