Is "Baywatch" movie remake really happening this 2014?

Dwayne "The Rock" Jonhson confirms the news! The hit TV classic will have a movie adaptation and the "WWE" superstar is going to be in it.

He posted on his Instagram account together with a photo of him riding a monster Jet Ski.

Hollywood Reporter first reported the news that Paramount is moving forward with the long awaited remake of "Baywatch" movie remake and it's finally happening this year.

According to the entertainment publication, the studio has tapped Justin Malen to pen the script and will be helmed by "We're The Millers" and "Horrible Bosses 2" directors Sean Anders and John Morris.

Beau Flynn and Montecito Pictures will produce the upcoming "Baywatch" movie while, Tripp Vinson will executive produce. Johnson's producing partner Hiram Garcia, is also included in the team and will serve as a producer as well.

While, the film is reportedly still in its early stages Movie Pilot reported that the story would somehow revolve "around a series of shark attacks that led the Baywatch team to investigate a drug-smuggling operation."

No further casting details have yet to surface.

Paramount has neither decline nor confirm the news as well.
