HP 3D Printer News: Release Date Set For 2016; Device W/ Multi Jet Fusion Technologyo To Start 'New Era Of Manufacturing;' Hewlett-Packard Claims It Will Be Ten Times Faster Than Current Printers

More HP 3D printer news and updates have been revealed!

Hewlett-Packard is planning to launch a 3D printer which as cited in Re/Code report, will begin a "new era of manufacturing."

The concept device for the HP 3D printer was unveiled during the Multi Jet Fusion event held in New York. As described on the post, the printer "fits not on a desk, but is about the size of a pair of household laundry machines."

According to the latest HP 3D printer news, the release date for upcoming device is set for 2016 and as claimed by Hewlett-Packard, it will be "ten times faster than the current printers with selective laser sintering and fused deposition modeling," as cited by The Next Digit website.

Furthermore, the general manager and VP for HP's large format printing business, Ramon Pastor, shared:

"This speed will really help us put 3D printing in more applications and in more and more cases," "For example, to print 1,000 gears using HP's multi jet printer, it would take 3 hours, when under laser sintering it would take 38 hours to print that amount of gears."

The printer aims to create 3-dimensional images not only with outstanding colors but also with electrical and thermal properties.

As explained by ComputerWorld.com, 3D printing has already been around since the 1980s but utilized mainly to produce prototypes much faster, also known as rapid prototyping. However, with HP's 'Multi Jet Fusion' 3D printing technology, it will allow "mass production of parts instead of just rapid prototyping. The new machine is unlikely to mass produce millions or billions of product parts; think, instead, in terms of tens, hundreds or thousands of parts," the post reads.
