Motorola Set To Release Droid Turbo On November 5; To Be Named 'Moto Maxx' Internationally

The Motorola smartphone "Droid Turbo" is preparing to release worldwide under the "Maxx" brand.

In a report by Phandroid.com, the original Droid was introduced globally as "Motorola Milestone". The new Droid Turbo will be introduced as "Moto Maxx". The official Droid Turbo release date has been set on November 5, 2014.

In a report by NDTV Gadgets, the Droid Turbo is currently exclusive only to Verizon, an American mobile carrier. Technoblog, a Portuguese publication, shared an invite from Motorola that indicated the global release of "Moto Maxx" on November 5 at an event in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

For years, Brazil has been a vital market for Motorola. In 2013, the "Moto G" first generation was also released in Sau Paulo. Although Technoblog did not name the device, the teaser photo presented what appears to be the black ballistic nylon back of the Droid Turbo.

NDTV Gadgets also reported that the upcoming device will feature a 5.2-inch Quad HD AMOLED screen displaying 1440 x 2560 pixels with a pixel density of 565 ppi, a massive 3900mAh battery, which is equivalent to some of the best smartphones today, a 21-megapixel rear autofocus camera with dual-LED flash and f/2.0 aperture, Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor clocked at 2.7GHz and 3GB of RAM.

The Droid Turbo runs on the Android 4.4.4 KitKat and features water-repellent nano-coating. The smartphone also has a 2-megapixel front camera.

Based on the same NDTV report, the Moto Maxx can run up to 48 hours of mixed use. It also supports the Turbo Charger of Motorola that can allegedly provide about eight extra hours of battery life after a charging time of only 15 minutes.

Acccording to PCMag.com, the Motorola Droid Turbo is available at a retail price of $199 so it is expected that on the Droid Turbo release date, the price will be the same.
