Dean McDermott Defends Himself After Cheating Scandal, Says He And Wife Tori Spelling ‘On Good Terms”

The ups and downs of Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott's marriage have occupied television screens and tabloid covers for quite some time now.

However, now that McDermott is facing backlash over cheating on his wife Tori, the actor is hoping that the public will view him as just a regular person, flaws and all.

In a recent interview with E! News, McDermott told the publication that he and wife, who both star on the Lifetime reality series "True Tori," are "on good terms."

However, the 47-year-old actor says that "True Tori" "viewers may not be ready for real reality TV," hinting that the show that spotlights his his relationship with his wife may be coming to an end.

McDermott also told E! that he would like for people to stop judging him for the cheating scandal, which he calls a "mistake."

"I would love for the public to see me as just a human being," he said. "I'm just trying. I'm trying to get through this life, I'm trying to do some good and I'm trying to teach my kids right from wrong and just have a good life."

McDermott quit Twitter last week after fans bashed him on the social media site for his infidelity.

"I messed up," the star told E!, who shares four children with Spelling, as well as a son from a previous marriage, which also ended due to McDermott cheating. "People make mistakes, but those mistakes don't define them. It's what you do after the mistakes that really shows your true character. So I would like people to take away from all of this that I'm a good guy that messed up that is just trying to put my life back together," he explained, then adding, "Our life back together."
