Idol group FTISLAND member Lee Hongki has been chosen to be the new MC for Mnet "M! Countdown."

The Mnet producer commented, "'M! Countdown' is going through a reorganization stage starting on August 30 so we chose Lee Hongki to be our new MC."

The producers also commented, "Lee Hongki is a well known singer and has a lot of humor and wit. He is going to do well as an MC on this show. He is also fluent in Japanese and it could help bring in more international fans to our show."

Previous MC, Tony Ahn showed his disappointment to find out that his spot had been replaced.
