SM Entertainment Denies EXO Comeback For January 2015

After reports that EXO would be making a January comeback, SM Entertainment has denied the rumors.

On November 14, Korean media outlet Sports Donga reported that EXO would be making a comeback in January to regain the title of "ultimate idols." Later the same day, SM Entertainment denied the rumors. They did, however, confirmed that EXO is working on their next album.

"EXO has been preparing for their comeback, but the date has not yet been set," the entertainment agency's representative told media outlets. "EXO is doing their best to prepare for the second full album, and is working hard to meet the expectation of fans." an agency representative told media outlets.

It is as of yet unknown whether EXO will be making a comeback in the first quarter of 2015.

This will be the group's first album with ten members, following the departures of Kris (Wu Yi Fan) and Luhan. The two were members of the sub-group EXO-M, EXO's group of six members that promoted primarily in the Mandarin-speaking market; Kris was the leader.

It has further been reported that EXO's second full-length album will have both Korean and Chinese versions.

EXO debuted in 2011, with twelve members split into EXO-K and EXO-M. EXO-K originally promoted in Korea while EXO-M promoted in China, but after the group's combined twelve members proved to be extremely popular SM Entertainment joined them together for most of the subsequent promotional purposes.

Fans who commented on the news shared warm feelings for the remaining ten members of EXO, and hoped that 2015 would be a less tumultuous year for both EXO and SM Entertainment.

EXO is currently in the midst of The Lost Planet concert tour. They recently performed a show in Fukuoka Japan on November 13, and the next concert date is November 18, the start of a three-concert series in Tokyo.

EXO's The Lost Planet will hold its final show in Osaka, Japan on December 24.
