It's official! Prince William and Kate Middleton are on their way to NYC!

Buckingham Palace announced on Friday, Nov. 14, that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will visit the U.S. from Dec. 7 through Dec. 9. The royal couple, who are currently expecting their second child, will travel to New York City.

While Kate will stay in the Big Apple throughout the duration of the trip, William will travel to Washington D.C. for one day during their American stay. This will be the first visit by either William or Kate to New York City and Washington D.C.

Middleton, who has spent the last few months suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum due to her pregnancy, was not initially expected to join her husband on the trip. She now appears to have recovered. The couple's one-year-old son Prince George will not be accompanying his parents to the States, however.

William and Kate have a packed itinerary planned for the international trip.

The royals will attend several events on behalf of the Royal Foundation and additional charities that deal with causes such as conservation, wildlife protection, mental health, and supporting disadvantaged youth.

William and Kate will also visit the National September 11 Memorial and Museum, which officially opened earlier this year at the World Trade Center. On their first evening in New York, they will also attend a private event held by the American Friends of the Royal Foundation.

On Dec. 8, William will journey down the East Coast to Washington D. C. for an anti-corruption conference that will be held at the World Bank. The Prince will discuss a "zero tolerance" approach to illegal wildlife trade. The conversation will address other conservation programs as well.

Meanwhile, Kate will accompany New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio's wife, First Lady Chirlane McCray, to a local child development center. Middleton will then attend a lunch hosted by the British Consul General in New York.

On Monday evening, William will return to New York and he and Kate will attend an NBA basketball game. According to the Palace, the couple will head to the sporting event "to support the ongoing collaboration between the Royal Foundation, United for Wildlife and the NBA."

We're guessing that will be one celebrity-packed game. No doubt Taylor Swift and Beyoncé will be in the front row.

On Dec. 9, William and Kate will visit a youth organization in New York. They will also attend an event celebrating local British talent in the creative industries.  

That evening, the couple will stop by a gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in celebration of the 600^th anniversary of their alma mater St. Andrews.
