[Exclusive] Wonder Girls Interview and iHeartRadio Concert Preview: Fans Expect to be Pleasantly Surprised [Video]

Interviewing the Wonder Girls is like hanging out with old friends. They were warm, friendly and entirely at ease on and off the camera. When Sun, Yubin, Yenny, Sohee, and Lim smile, along with it comes a twinkle in their eyes. It's obvious they are enjoying themselves and want those around them to join in too.

Kpopstarz got an exclusive interview with the Wonder Girls at the upscale Kristalbelli Restaurant in the heart of Manhattan, owned by owner of JYP Entertainment, Park Jin-young. In the ambience of Wonder Girls hits purring through the speakers and dimmed warm lighting, the Wonder Girls sat bundled up close to each one at end of the table. Before, the interview began they chatted among themselves, at times softly touching each other with a familiarity displayed among kinship.

Aside from the dexterity with which they answered questions, it was obvious the girls were responding from their heart and not giving canned responses. When Lim was responding to the question what watching American shows may have helped her discover about America, she tilted her head back as if to access a precious piece of memory frozen in time. Suddenly, her eyes brighten up and she utters "Central Park". She continued that she saw Central Park a lot in Gossip Girl, and so at her subsequent visit to New York City she made it a point to visit Central Park.

It's clear these are not your average K-Pop stars. The Wonder Girls are continuing to break the boundaries of K-Pop in America, and crossover into the American music market. After releasing "Like Money" with Akon this past summer, the girls have been actively promoting it in the American music scene. During the interview, the Wonder girls gushed on how exciting it was to work with Akon, and expressed admiration for his talent as an artist. As pioneers of K-Pop in America, with the release of "Nobody" and touring with the Jonas Brothers, the girls are confident on increasing their success here in the United States.

As the Wonder girls prepare for their upcoming concert on 09-05-12 at iHeartRadio in New York City, they were asked if they had any surprises prepared for their fans. At this, Sohee quickly brightened up and excited proclaimed, "we are going to be performing three new songs just for our fans". It seems the Wonder Girl fans that have been lucky to receive the exclusive invitation to the event are in for a treat.
