Blackberry Passport Release Date: Red Edition Of Enterprise-Focused Handset Arriving To Markets Soon?

Are you fond of the new flagship Blackberry Passport whose release date was a couple of months ago? Since its announcement, the device has already been made available in a variety of color options, including black, white and in some countries, gold.

And now, in another attempt to keep the device fresh for new potential buyers, CEO John Chen has showcased a new red version for the Blackberry device.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the new red Blackberry Passport began to hit stores this Friday in the US, and some markets should get it as well.

Unfortunately, the report also mentions that the red version will come in limited numbers so you may want to hurry if you want to get your hands on this odd-looking but powerful device aimed at the enterprise market.

Another reason to get yourself a Blackberry Passport is that it has undergone a $100 price cut in the US, bringing down the price to $599. Sadly, the Passport only currently supports AT&T and T-Mobile networks.

In case you have missed the launch of the Passport in August, it boasts a 4.5-inch touch screen display with 1440 x 1440 resolution. It runs on a high-end Snapdragon 801 chipset and 3GB of RAM. This means the Passport can run seamlessly almost anything you throw at it.

Other specs include a 13MP camera, 2MP front shooter, a 32GB built-in memory with an option to expand via microSD card slot, and a 3,450mAh battery.

In spite the initial pricey cost, the Blackberry Passport has reportedly sold out twice during its first month of availability.
