Girls' Generation member Sooyoung is showing audiences a new side of her in "The 3rd Hospital."

Sooyoung is scheduled to make her first appearance in the third episode scheduled to air on Thursday.

tvN's "The 3rd Hospital" is the first medical drama to deal with both Eastern and Western medicine. Two genius doctors in both fields face off in their work and in love. The two characters will be portrayed by skilled actors Kim Seung Woo and Oh Ji Ho.

Sooyoung will portray Violist Lee Eui Jin, who is in love with Seung Hyun (Oh Ji Ho). With this drama, she definitely plans on making her mark as an actor and this is her first leading role in a drama.

The image of her character is different from the glamorous image that Girls' Generation had imbued her with. She seems like an innocent girl, with her ponytail, white blouse and long skirt. 

In the third episode in which Sooyoung is scheduled to appear, the tension between the two lines of doctors will begin. A patient afflicted by a brain tumor will arrive in the emergency room but the Western medicine doctors will take him away from Kim Seung Woo's character, who is a well-known neurosurgeon. 

"The 3rd Hospital" cast includes Kim Seung Woo, Oh Ji Ho, and Kim Min Jung the drama airs every Wednesday and Thursday.
