Kirk Cameron, from the sitcom Growing Pains, and Samuel Goldwyn Films are putting Christ back in Christmas and audiences across the heartland and beyond are loving it. The new film is being called inspirational.

Actor and filmmaker Kirk Cameron recently celebrated a record-breaking one-night movie release for his film Unstoppable and now Saving Christmas had a limited opening weekend November 14-16 in only 400 theaters across the country of $1 million. Successful showings were held in 400 theaters in cities across the U.S., including Los Angeles, New York City, Atlanta, Dallas, Orlando, Houston, and more.

"I love hearing from people who saw the movie and now are inspired to put Christ back in Christmas," said Cameron. "My hope is that families will continue to see the film and join with my family and focus on the true reason for the season. My hope is the film continues to touch hearts and help reorient believers back toward Christ during the Christmas season."

Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas provides a biblical basis for the Christmas celebrations. The film promises to "stand strongly against a culture that wants to trivialize and eliminate the faith elements of this holy season.

Before Saving Christmas was released, Cameron went on a media tour in markets that included Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, Nashville, and New York City. He went on The Today Show, Fox & Friends, and Fox News' Outnumbered to shared his insights and excitement.
