Kendall Jenner may be making a name for herself in the world of high fashion but it hasn't been easy for her to break away from the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" fame that propelled her into the spotlight.

In an interview for The New York Times, the 19-year-old model talks about living two existences, one as a rising fashion star hoping to prove her talent and another as a reality television celebrity with countless followers on social media sites like Twitter and Instagram.

"It's definitely two different worlds," Jenner told the NYT. "I feel like Hannah Montana. But it's fun."

Over the last year, Jenner has stepped out of the shadow of her older sisters, the most famous being Kim Kardashian, and emerged as a budding model who has seemingly been embraced by the fashion world.

Recently named the new face of Estée Lauder, Kendall has a unique appeal to fashion and beauty-related companies, namely her wildly popular status on social media which gives her direct contact with potential customers who watch her every move.

"I think what's so exciting about her is that she has this social media influence along with a fashion credibility in a distinct way that speaks to millennials," said Jane Hertzmark Hudism, the global brand president of Estée Lauder. "There is really no one else like her out there."

"I feel like I'm more honored to be a part of something with such amazing names involved," she is shown saying in the promotional video. "It's something that I didn't really expect to happen so quickly. It's so crazy."

Jenner revealed her new partnership with the company in a video posted to YouTube that shows her sampling an assortment of Estée Lauder make-up.

"I just want to be the best me I can be," Jenner told the NYT. "So having the power that social media does, I think just seeing how many people care about you and seeing how many people, like, want to watch what you're doing, it just makes you really want to do the best you can do."
