Display

The HTC Desire 820 is having a flat, rectangular glossy plastic rear panel with rounded edges. It comes with LCD display of 5.5 inches with a resolution of 720x1280pixels with a pixel density of 267ppi. It has a dimension of 157.7x78.7x7.7mm and weighing 155grams.

In comparison, the Nexus 5 has a unibody design, it offers a True HD IPS display and measures 4.95 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels that gives a 445 ppi pixel density.

Hardware

The Desire 820 powered by an octa-core with a quad-core 1.5GHz Cortex-A53 and quad core 1GHz Cortex-A53 CPU. It is supported by a Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 chipset and has 2GB of RAM.

However, the Nexus 5 comes equipped with a CPU of Krait 400 which is clocked at 2.3 GHz and supported by a Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 chipset at 2GB of RAM.

Memory

The Nexus 5 has two variants of internal memory, the 16 and 32GB but it doesn't provide a microSD card slot for expansion. While the HTC's handset has an internal memory of 16GB, it can increase up to 128GB through a MicroSD

Camera

The HTC Desire 820 offers 13MP rear shooter and 8MP on the front, with autofocus, LED flash, HDR, HD video and image recording. While the Nexus 5 has 8MP rear-facing camera and a 1.3MP on the front, it has optical image stabilization and other features.

Battery and Price

The Desire 820 offers a smaller battery of 2600 mAh, while the Nexus 5 has 2300 mAh only.

The price of HTC Desire 820 costs $407 and the Nexus 5 16 GB variant price is around $393.
